Our rentals are booked on a daily, not nightly, basis. This allows you the use of the vehicle for the entire day on your first and last day of the rental period—no awkward check-in and check-out times!

Please note that our reservations system calculates this as the number of nights booked plus an additional charge for the checkout day.

• All drivers must be at least 25 years of age and possess a current and valid driver's license
• International drivers may use their foreign driver's license along with a copy of a current passport
• All drivers must be able to present an original driver's license at the time of pick-up
• There is no charge for additional drivers, but they must meet the age requirement and be listed on the rental agreement in order to drive the rental vehicle
• The primary driver must present a credit card with a matching name
• The consumption of alcohol, marijuana, or other intoxicants while operating the vehicle is strictly prohibited
• Smoking is prohibited inside the vehicle and tent

Travel on all public roads within the State of Alaska and Canada is permitted, this includes the Dalton Highway, Denali Highway, Edgerton Highway, and Hatcher Pass road. Travel is permitted into Canada.

Our rentals are prohibited for use on off-road trails or closed roads. These trails are often defined as "Jeep trails" or "ATV trails". While our vehicles are well built and very capable, there is a high risk of vehicle damage when traveling on off-road trails. This not only can impact your trip, but it also impacts the next guest's rental.

• Craigie Creek
• Ruby Lake/Kings River
• Caribou Hills
• Eureeka

• Water crossing up to the hubcap level is permitted as long as the water is part of an established roadway
• Wild river crossings are strictly prohibited
• Vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking and travel in prohibited areas will void insurance coverage
• Renters should use their best judgement and only travel when you are comfortable in your abilities to handle the driving conditions presented
• Road conditions and closures should be monitored in advance of travel
• The best source of information regarding road conditions is Alaska 511

We are located at 2422 Arctic Blvd, Anchorage, AK 99503. Taxis and rideshare services are readily available in Anchorage.

• Rentals may be picked up by appointment Monday–Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday–Sunday 9am–5pm
• On arrival we will provide an orientation of the vehicle and demonstration of all the included gear — the orientation will take about 45 minutes to an hour
• Your pickup appointment will be scheduled when your final payment is arranged
• All pick-ups and drop-offs are scheduled by appointment and these services may not be immediately available outside of your scheduled appointment window — if you are unable to meet at the scheduled time, please contact us directly
• Late pickups or early returns will not be eligible for any refunds or reductions in rate
• All rentals must be picked up and returned in Anchorage at our prearranged location — we do not offer one-way rentals
• Failure to return to our designated drop-off location may result in a relocation fee being charged of up to $1000

• We offer a selection of other add-on items and services — we will be in contact about 5 weeks before your arrival to finalize details and add any additional items and services
• Add-on items may also be added at any time prior to the start of the rental pending availability
• Tents, awnings, canopies, fridges and drawer systems are all permanently mounted and cannot be removed
• Other items such as tables, chairs, stoves, etc. may be removed if not needed
• All equipment provided is the responsibility of the renter to maintain during the duration of the rental and replacement or repairs costs will be deducted from the damage deposit

• A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total booking is required to secure a rental
• Reservations cancelled within 48 hours of booking may be refunded in full
• Reservations made in the year prior to travel may be cancelled and refunded BEFORE January 1st of the year in which travel is to take place (i.e. travel in 2027 will be refunded if cancelled before January 1, 2027)
• The final balance is due 30 days before arrival and is non-refundable once paid
• A $1500 damage deposit will be withheld from the credit card on file 24 hours in advance of your scheduled pickup time — if you wish to use a different card for this, please contact us
• The damage deposit will apply to any damages, lost or broken equipment, mileage overages, loss of key, charges to fill gas tank, parking tickets, excess cleaning fees, etc.
• Any unapplied funds will be released within 7 days of return, but may take up to an additional 10 business days to reflect on your credit card
• Dates may be shifted within 3 days before/after original booking, or additional days may be added as availability allows and will be charged at the current rate
• Changes that result in a reduction in the length of stay will not be refunded and the full charge for the cancelled day(s) will still apply
• Changes to dates outside of the 3 day before/after period are considered cancellations

While we understand that plans can and do change, often due to unforeseen and sometimes unpleasant events, our cancellation terms are final and binding. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Certain extenuating circumstances may at times impact these Terms and we reserve the right to amend them at any time.

All transactions are conducted in US Dollars, note that international credit cards may incur additional processing fees.

Vehicles are insured for liability, collision and comprehensive. Insurance is included and no additional charges are added to the rental contract for insurance. Insurance coverage may not be waived, nor discounts offered for providing your own insurance.

• Renter is liable for damage incurred to the vehicle, windshield or tires during the rental term
• Windshield and tire insurance is available for purchase for $25/day
• Loss or damage to any of the included gear and equipment is the full responsibility of the renter
• Incidents caused by renter that require towing, extraction or other services are the full and complete responsibility of the renter
• Alaska Overlander will provide assistance in the instance of a mechanical breakdown not caused by actions of the renter

Included mileage is 150 miles per day, calculated over the total rental period. Your total included mileage will be calculated at 150 times the number of days rented i.e. a 7 day rental offers 1050 miles.

• Unlimited mileage may be purchased for $25.00/day (not available as single supplements and must be purchased prior to vehicle pick-up)
• Additional mileage overages are assessed at $.50/mile upon return

Due to the limited space in our vehicles, pets are not allowed.
